The legend of The Vanimal
If you've been around the HB RACING team for a while, you'll know exactly what our Chief Hillbilly, the old man himself, was famous for. That's right, the legendary MK4 Astravan, affectionately known as The Vanimal. This machine boasts a massive history of tearing up the track at Knockhill Racing Circuit, and it was high time we showed the old girl some serious love.
From neglected to resurrected
After lying in the deep, darkest corner of the yard for a very long time, stripped of its engine, gearbox, and all its goodies, The Vanimal was in a truly sorry state. It was Dale’s idea to bring it back to life, and he pulled the whole team together to make it happen as a massive surprise for his dad. We dragged it out of the bushes, gave it the world's most aggressive car wash, and spent a week surviving on two hours of sleep and pure hype to bring it back to life for a grand reveal at Crail Raceway.

WHAT IS NEXT FOR THE VANIMAL?
Right now, the engine bay is sitting empty again. Why? Because we have a top secret new engine build currently underway. We are chasing massive BHP and pure grunt. We build them to take a beating on the drag strip and still handle the curbs at Knockhill without shedding a wheel.
Stay tuned, because when this new motor is dropped in, it is going to be loud, it is going to spit flames, and we are absolutely going to gie it some beans.
