Dale's Astra: Saab powered weapon

Right, pull up a chair and grab a brew. You want the lowdown on the madness we have been hammering together in the garage? Forget those polished show ponies; this is a proper garage built weapon based on an Astra chassis, designed to hunt down supercars and make enough noise to cause a scene.

The Specs:

We build them loud, we race them hard, and we do not spare the horses. Here is the rough breakdown of the build:

  • Chassis: Mk3 Astra
  • Engine: Saab B204
  • Management: MaxxECU
  • Induction: Turbocharged
  • Philosophy: Garage built and ready to send it
  • Aero: Weight reduction via extreme mean
  • Exhaust: Custom Pops, bangs, and spitting flames
  • Purpose: Drag strip dominance

Why We Built It!

We do not do garage queens here. If it is not bouncing off the limiter, it is sitting in the wrong place. This build is all about that mix of Scottish engineering ingenuity and the classic "let us turn the boost up and see what happens" attitude. We have spent our time chasing new personal bests down the quarter mile at Crail and hunting down V8s at Santa Pod, and this thing is built to take a proper beating.

It is quick enough to leave almost anything for dead at the strip, and it smells like high octane fuel, looks like a tactical decision that went slightly sideways, and goes like absolute stink. If the exhaust is not causing a scene, we have not done it right.

We are just a bunch of petrol obsessed dafties from the Central Belt. If you want to see what else we have been cooking up in the workshop, have a look around the rest of our builds here.
